Sunrun is the largest residential solar energy and storage company in the United States. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Sunrun was launched in 2007 by Stanford Graduate School of Business classmates Lynn Jurich and Edward Fester, along with another Northern California businessman, Robert "Nat" Kreamer.
Jurich, who was named one of the nation's Ten Most Powerful Woman Entrepreneurs in 2009 by Fortune Magazine, still serves as the company's director and CEO. Fenster is now the Executive Chairman of the Board, while Kreamer has been replaced in top management by Chief Operating Officer Christopher Dawson.
Active across the United States, the company offers services in solar design, development, installation, sales, financing and maintenance. As of early 2019, it had more than 233,000 customers in 22 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
To facilitate the spread of residential solar energy, Sunrun has embraced the influential "solar-as-a-service" model. While still selling products directly to customers, Sunrun installs most of its residential solar energy systems (80-90 percent) through solar leasing contracts and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). These 20-25-year pacts give homeowners access to affordable rooftop solar energy at no upfront Read More
Sunrun has adopted a direct-to-consumer marketing approach. It leases or sells its products to clients recruited through its website, during on-the-ground canvassing efforts, through traditional and digital media outlets, by referral, and in coordination with partner companies. In addition to its direct services, Sunrun finances many installations through third-party contractors.
In the fourth quarter of 2018, Sunrun installed 115 megawatts of rooftop solar energy. This established a new record for the company and eclipsed the second-place mark of rival Tesla/SolarCity by 42 megawatts. In total, Sunrun has installed 1,575 megawatts of solar power over its 11-plus years in business. It branched out into storage in 2015, with its Brightbox home battery system (5,000 units of which were installed in American homes in 2018).
The name "Sunrun" is a direct reflection of the company's ultimate mission, which is to help create a planet "run by the Sun."

I went solar about 3 years ago with Sunrun. Everyone from sales to installers were excellent. I love having my fixed payment and only paying NV Energy $13.50...even in the summer. It's great to pay less for clean energy.

They will tell you that you will not have a utility bill and that you will only pay a low price a month to get the system on your roof and then you will receive a bill from them and your utility company for TWICE what you pay now!!! Then they will tell you need to give them a recording of the conversation you had with the sales person in your yard or there is nothing they can do!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! HORRIABLE!!!!!! If they come to your house RECORD every word that they say!!!! THEY LIE AND THEN IT COSTS YOU MONEY!!!!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!!!!!
