Headquartered in Houston, Sunnova is a national-level residential solar company serving 16 states.

While it launched in 2012, the company's founders collectively have decades of experience in the solar industry. In a a vote of confidence from the investor community, it recently raised $1 billion in private funding. Sunnova has been featured by CNBC, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes.

While it does partner with regional installers, it says that those partnerships allow it to draw upon local expertise for permitting and weather-related considerations. The company's in-house solar engineers review every system design before it goes up, and also manage the construction process. Afterwards, Sunnova monitors each system to ensure that it

meets production targets. All solar arrays come with insurance and a warranty for the life of the system.

Sunnova offers fixed-payment and variable-payment power purchase agreements (PPAs), with the option to purchase the solar system after five years. It also offers leases and financing. All plans have a zero-down option, and with the exception of the variable-rate PPA, all plans come with a production guarantee. The company claims that the average customer saves more than 20% on electricity in the first year.

Sunnova holds an A rating with the Better Business Bureau. It can be reached through its website at sunnova.com, or by phone at (855) 277-6379.
