Michigan-based Current Motor has developed four electric Super Scooters that come with portable solar charging stations.
The fully electric scooters have a top speed of around 65 miles per hour, can go for up to 50 miles on one charge. The solar station, which fits into a regular parking spot, has a 22 kWh battery that can fully charge the scooter in under six hours.
The battery is charged using power from the sun, able to be charged in 8 hours thanks to solar panels attached to the charging station.
“Current Motor mini-fleets are self-contained and are delivered to the customer site ready to use,” said Lauren Flanagan, Executive Chair of Current Motor.
“Our mini-fleet uses 100% renewable, clean, solar generated electricity to power our zero emissions Super Scooters, making them among the most sustainable fleet options available, and ideal for corporate, campus, event or municipal use. If our Super Scooters are powered principally by the solar charging station, you may never have to pay to fuel them,” she continued.
